About Network Tasman
Network Tasman is a consumer-owned electricity distribution business serving more than 53,000 connections across two network areas: the Tasman network (around 43,000 connections across the wider Tasman and Golden Bay area, including Murchison and areas north of Nelson) and the Nelson network (around 10,000 connections in central Nelson), which it took over when Nelson Electricity merged into it on 31 March 2026. It also runs Network Tasman Fibre, an open-access fibre network across the top of the South Island.
